An opportunity to protect high-value purchases
When retailing high-value products—such as laptops, smartphones, or high-end gaming gear—offering insurance and extended warranties at the exact moment of purchase was a natural strategic step. The business objective was clear: to increase profit margins and Average Ticket Value (ATV) by providing customers with peace of mind and protection for their new acquisitions.
However, in an environment where every millisecond of load time counts, the risk of introducing friction into the conversion funnel was unacceptable. Cart abandonment is the ultimate enemy of eCommerce; therefore, any new process had to be completely seamless and invisible to the buyer.
Consequently, the technical and operational challenge was immense. PcComponentes needed a robust solution capable of dynamically assigning policies across thousands of different SKUs and handling massive traffic spikes during critical campaigns like Black Friday or Christmas—all without slowing down their platform in the slightest.
